  INDUSTRY: GOVERNMENT KIOSK

The Department of Education, Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service, and Environmental Protection Agency join HUD in bringing information you need, right to you! Government kiosks are in shopping malls, grocery stores, and other public places around the country. Most of them are available 7 days a week in various locations throughout the country.
At the touch of your finger, learn how to buy a home, apply for student loans, make your home safe from pests, save for your retirement, and find out if you are eligible for a tax credit. Normally, users spend about 5-10 minutes finding information on the kiosks. They can print any page they want. And if they need more information or free access to the Internet, they can visit a local government office (the address, phone number, and fax number of the closest office is shown at the bottom of every page they print from the kiosk).
Government kiosks symbolize the best of "e-government." Using kiosk technology, the government is bringing its information and services to citizens where they are, when they want it, in ways that make sense to them.
Government Service Insurance System has included pension loans among the services that can be applied for via the eCard Plus on the GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System kiosks installed in all GSIS offices and select government offices nationwide. The loan offer at the kiosks is among other programs the Arroyo administration is putting forth to aid the needs of government pensioners.
